Hello All,

Could someone please list some of the big name aquarium manufactures, as well as there web address.

Thanks,

Ryan :hang:

perfecto, all glass, glass cages.
arylics are made by clear for life, tenecor, seaclear

Not a big name, but glasscages.com makes some very nice aquariums in glass and acrylic. They also make oak stands and canopies. I have two of their cages for my ball pythons (30L stackers) and a 65 gal dragon cage. I've stands to match.

I'm thinking of buying a 90 gal acrylic from them ($150) as my next project. They won't ship large tanks, though. They attend a lot of shows and use their own trucks to transport the cages/tanks to the show and you go and pick it up.

Worth checking out the web site, imho.

...hmm.....shows??? I've never heard of any around here (Balt/Wash DC area). Where have you been to them?

Are the shows aquarium trade shows, or some sort of home show?
Well, I haven't been to any :) But the Washington D.C. Area Marine Aquarist Society (WAMAS) hosted the 17th annual Marine Aquarium Conference of North America (MACNA XVII) on September 16-18 in Washington DC. There were exhibits as well and quite a few vendors. My husband drove there (20 minutes and the Beltway was not too bad for once) and picked up our cages.

Glass Cages was in two places that weekend: they had a truck in Washington and one at the Maryland State Fair Grounds for the MARS (Mid-Atlantic Reptile Society) Reptile Show. I have ball pythons and am looking for a het pied female. We all went to the MARS show instead of the DC fish show. My husband bought a citrus x tangerine bearded dragon there.

I'm really glad we had them ship the cages to the Washington show instead of MARS because there would have been no room in the van for the kids and I if we hadn't. 1 65 gal 48" long cage, plus stand and canopy, 2x30gal stackers, and two 2 canopies for those. Was a full van load.

If you want to see a store full of AWESOME marin fish, check out the Marine Scene in Reston. That store rocks! We were going to go the salt route at one point (hubby had a reef tank before), but decided against it. We wanted a BIG tank and are going to wait until we build our house in a few years and have it incorporated into the plans.

I know this is a bit off track for this thread, but WDC-area people might be interested. On the glasscages.com website, I see they are going to be in Manassas (at the Prince William County Fairgrounds, perhaps?) next weekend (Oct 30). It must be some sort of reptile show, as you have described above.

Oooh, a house built around a big tank.....wish we had thought of that 5 years ago!

Yep, it's a rep show, but just a small one. The Maryland show was the best one and I had a *great* time. Man, I wish I had a couple hundred grand to throw around there. They had some awesome ball morphs for sale. I had my eye on a blonde pastel female, but 15K$ is a little steep.

ROFL! Actually, we'll be building the house around an observatory. The tank is a minor thingy :)
