Canister water filter media

Hi, being new to the aqua scaping hobby, I need advise on the type of filter media to use in a canister filter I just purchased.

There is 2 drawer in my canister filter. I had currently placed bio-balls and filter form on the top level and ceramic filter with charcoal filter bag on the bottom level.

Is this a good combination for planted aquarium?

I would lose the carbon. Most people agree that it has no place in a planted tank and some people say there is no place in the hobby at all. I agree with the former.

Not sure what kind of cannister you own but in my eheim I use mostly coarse filter foam with a little bit of fine filter floss at the top. No need for anything else. Carbons a waste if your keeping up with your water changes.
