I purchased a few german rams 2 weeks ago, unfortunately they introduced ich to my tank which i'm currently treating with quick cure. One of them shortly after being introduced started to develop a bump under its scales. Now the bump is getting ugly so i'm wondering what to treat it with. I've been dosing the tank with malachite green/formalin for the ich, and I'm thinking if this could be a bacterial or fungal infection that can be treated topically with methylene blue or some other antibacterial chemical. The bump doesn't seem like cotton fuzz as in a fungal problem, instead its a hard white lump that keeps getting bigger.

Other than the unsightly sore, the fish is doing fine, chasing all the rest of the fish around the tank.

Parasitic. Treat with Malachite green, I'd remove the ram from the tank and treat it in a hospital tank, especially with all those plants just as a precaution. Clout may also work, but I'm not a fan of it, its got some downsides.

Looks like when my arowanas had hook worms.... Came up like pimples under there scales and then broke through... I sedated the fish and pulled them out... 5 days of Melafix afterwards and he was all healed up..... I don't know if this is the same thing or not but thats what it looked like....
