I've done my research over the last few weeks and I think I've finally got the plan together over what I'd like to put in my aquarium.
I have a 29 gallon, and I'm intending to get a 1x65W Sattelite Power Compact light, giving me about 2.25 wpg. With this wattage, I assume I'd be looking at medium-light plants - around here at the pet stores and the LFS, they sell mainly anachris, diandra, jungle valinaria, some different kinds of swords and anubises. That's about all I've seen.
My water has a KH of 120 and a GH of around 300 ppm. pH is somewhere around 7.2 out of the tap, and it seems to elevate a bit in the aquarium up to 7.8.
I'll be getting the following htings to make sure the plants do well
- Eco Complete (source of Iron, Magnesium, and Potassium)
- Flourish (source of trace elements, magnesium, iron)
- Nutrafin CO2 system (a bit easier and nicer looking than DIY, carbon source)
The only element i'm missing is Phosphate it looks like. I don't think any of the plants listed above are extremely fragile, but I don't know what all would be needed. I'd probably add any other plant that looks nifty that would do alright with the lighting/water conditions (although I'm pretty much limited by what's available around here.)
Is there anything else I'm missing that might be good to have? I'm too sure
Thanks for the advice!
