Livebearers, African cichlids, Central American cichlids, some Rainbowfish.

How hard and alkaline are we talking here?

What are your water parameters? Alkalinity is only one aspect of it. Some fish can adapt to a variety of water chemistry's.

pH, GH, KH, are needed as well. I've heard people say they had hard water, when it really wasn't that hard.

Though with a pH that high, I suspect the hardness is pretty high as well, unless Robert's in the habit of pouring potassium hydroxide into his water of a morning.

My original recommendations stand, then.

Well, thats a different story for saltwater. Maybe OG will move this to the saltwater section and you will get more responses there on what saltwater fish you can have.

Any. The compostion of seawater is pretty much uniform the world over.
