it's the second time. I know it's not a rock. The only fish that could have ''laid'' this thing are my 3'' Covict, 3.25'' Firemouth, 3.5'' Flying Fox or my 4'' White-tailed Black Shark. Any ideas?? TIA

my guess will be the blue crayfish molted.. but i suppose you'll say the blue cray is in another tank?

.Yes the blue cray is in another tank. I'm just going to leave it alone this time and see if it is anything. Thanks for the replies.

Size? Shape? Composition?

I can't think of anything that would come up blue. Otherwise, there are several native fish species that actually have these rock type things form in the stomach, as a result of the foods they eat (chiton, bones--indigestable stuff). These stones are occassionally vomited up. They have a specific name, I can not think of it right now. It may be something similar, if you can identify the source of the color in something you feed regularly that would be calcareous or chitonous.

otoliths? No, that has to do with the inner ear...

You mean the stuff that tastes like Vick's Vapo-Rub? I heard it's great for clearing yellow discoloration in aquarium water, if you can get it in the tank before it defrosts. Also it keeps your beer cool in the Igloo. Watch out that it doesn't stain the silicone on your aquarium. That's the only reason I can think of not to use Airplane Blue Stuff that Falls from the Sky.

I think I'll stick with conventional ice for my beer, thank you. Yuk!

Did you read about the guy at STL Intl Airport who flushed his ferret down the airlane's toidy? Imagine that chunk landing in your yard. (And yes, the guy is up against criminal charges - he broke its neck first and killed it because authorities were going to confiscate it). It's a sick world. :(

Um, how do you know it TASTES like Vick's Vapo-Rub? The warning label says not to put it in your notrils, much less your mouth!! Personally, my weird cravings are for Elmer's glue and Play-doh; must be a salt deficiency:eek:
