this is my second post on this forum.
now i decided wut kind of filteration i wanna go with and i kind of have an idea of how it works. i've been researching alot on this forum(very helpful) and i also read few books.
anyways, from my lfs that i like the most around here, im settin up my tank for $1200. The owner there told me he'd include everything i need in order to set up a SW system. things that are included in the price are 125g glass tank, stand, lighting, 2 heaters, wet&dry system(goes for 350 including the pump), 50lbs live rocks, 1 1/2 inches of live sand, thermometer, hydrometer, salt water mixes, water conditioner(?), 6 damsels, small powerhead(wanna go big but its free). now my questions is is this a good deal in ur opinion? it sounds like a decent deal in my opinion. and also would it provide sufficient filteration ? (planning on purchasing a skimmer when im done cycling it)
one more thing, im planning to keep 1 cortez stingray(heard they r only 3ft in diameter full grown), 1 port jackson shark(yes, i know how big they grow and ihab funds to set up a 300gal tank in 2 months got a quote and will cost me 3g's), 1 epaulette shark, 2 panther groupers, 1 volitan lion fish . . i would like to keep a moray but the ones i like are tessalata and greens morays so they are off the list = ) . anyways, any concerns or help would be greately appreciated.
---------sorry for the long post--------------
Thanks in regards, jin

For that list i wouldnt bother putting them all into the 125 and would rather wait for the 300, however some things you should know.

Stingrays need alot of open sandy areas, which means areas with no rock and they have the be large open areas. I would be leary about adding 2 panther groupers, a Volitan, and that Shark in the same aquarium, once they are at thier adult size you will have a HUGE bioload, and odds are one them will get eaten by another eventually, not to mention any and all inverts would be off limits, which means no clean up crew.

I agree..125 is too small. Especially if you are considering panther groupers... They get huge. I have a stingray in a 55 gal. She is the only thing in there and I only have a sand bed. BTW(love her!! when I open the hood for the tank she will swim up and flip over and let me rub her belly, and let me hand feed) The lion is good for a tank that size and quite beautiful and amazing to watch feed. Having that much in your tank tho that rely's on live food will muck up your tank pretty bad. Also just a suggestion..buy a 10 gal learn to breed what ever breeds rapidly(mollies are good0 so you can have an ample supply of feeder fish.
