I just picked up some new live rock. There are several white tubes embedded on the surface of the rock. Each tube is tiny, about 1mm long and each have a single thin clear moving 'hair' coming out of it. As I'm kinda new at this it's unknown to me. Any ideas?

Stony tube worms probably. Harmless microfilters, and part of a happy, healthy system! If it reproduces you will get them everywhere, and they look like little white curly Q's.

I'd guess that or sesile snails ,"probably the snails since there is only one string" either way they are harmeless filter feeders. Both critters will reproduce in your tank and are a good find.
