Just came back from a weekend vacation and noticed hundreds (okay, maybe not hundreds but quite a few) of tiny white starfish. I call them starfish because that's what they resemble. They're all over the rocks, and my shrooms and bubble coral as well. What are these things and how do I get rid of them?? Are they a danger to my corals? They weren't there Friday when I left. (Or they were and I just didn't see them) Now they're everywhere. I left the tank in the care of my neighbor who says he never noticed them.

Well I have seen a few LFS with the same tiny white starfish. I don't think anything will be harmed by them, but i do know the multiply rapidly. I wish I could tell you how to get rid of them, but I can't. Mayber someone else here well let us both no.

Without a pic, it's hard to tell for sure. Google asternia starfish. They are good for your tank. They eat algae.
There is a bad starfish that resembles asternia that eats coral. Only an expert would be able to distinguish between the 2.

Thanks for the info, Skippy. I did a search, but didn't find any good pics to compare mine to. I'll see if hubby will take some pics for me this afternoon. I don't dare touch his camera without permission! lol I'll try to post some pics of these little dudes ASAP.

I hav 3-4 of these white stars in my tank . they came in on my rocks but i dont think there bad. there was a chubby grey one too.
