If you read are loaches attackers you will see the start of my problem, but yesterday i lost another 3 fish and 2 this mornig, the fish in the tank seem to be covered in tiny white spots some more than others, and there seens to be little particles floating in the water, the fish that have died don't seem to be covered in spots though i can't see properly, is this white spot if so help, coz my tank is getting less populataed by the hour, what caused and how did it get into the tank, i have never had any disease of any sort before and i have kept fish for over 6 years, please hlep this is devasting me!

How big are the white spots? Are they like grains of salt or large blotches?

If they are like grains of salt, it's ich and you can read about treatment here:
http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39759

If it is ich, then there are other problems going on in your tank. Ich won't cause the types of damage you referred to in your other post, unless the fish are literall scraping their scales and fins off.

Thanks for your reply, there like tiny grains of salt, i read a post yesterday with tips on, ive upped the temp from 80 to 84 and i have started to slowly introduce salt, i really don't know what to do, i'm losing two or three and day, what happens if i lose the whole tank do i have to keep it cycled while i still add the salt, don't know what to do, i'm gutted.

ok have already started adding salt my tank, measurements are 24" x18"x 18", I THINK, is this a 20 gal i need to know how much salt to put in. it might be a 24"x18"x12", help

Okay, yer in the UK. 1 gallon US is 3.8 litres. You can either take your tank size tank in litres and divide it by 3.8 to get US gallons, or you can use a dosing of 1 teaspoon per every 3.8 litres of water.

US = 1 tsp per gallon
Metric = 1 tsp per 3.8 litres

So a 76l tank would be:
76/3.8 = 20 gallons

HELP!!! don't know what to do all of a muddle

First of all i thought ,my loach was attacking my fish, then i thought it was White spot ( though i'm still not 100% sure i can totally rule that out), now i think the new 3 spot gourmi i put in 2 weeks ago had killed all my fish.
From the start! my fish started dying not long after i got him, i caught my loach eating a dead fish and presumed he had killed them, took him out and the killings continued. Then though i spotted white spot, though i'm still not 100% sure its not that, but the fish that died have no spots just the ones in the tank, only a few and far between. But yesterday i caught the guormi attacking, so took him out. usually after work i come back to 2 or 3 dead, nothing yesterday, and then normally i wake up to 2 or 3 dead, nothing this morning, does that mean its the guormi, is this the norm for them. i took him out as soon as i realise and the killings stopped. When i brought him it said peaceful communtity fish, i do also have a honey guromi that i have ad for ages and shes never done anything like this, though the two guormis didn't seem to get on like i thought they would, help please don't know what to do! Was in the middle of treating fot white spot, will it harm the fish if they don't have it and i carry on treating them, thanks for your help in advance! Sorry abnout the long post.

Is it a blue 3-spot gourami? Those guys are very territorial and can be aggressive.

I had a blue 3-spot that harassed and injured one of my rainbow females. She later died. I ended up removing him from the tank.

I've had a blue 3 spot harass and kill several fish. Even severums and convicts were harassed. Some can certainly be obnoxious. Haven't bought one since (20 yrs?), but haven't had problems with leeri or dwarfs.

oh god yes he is a blue 3 spot guromi the shop said they awere quiet and community fish. His killed practically the whole tank. Hope they will take him back, would i be able to get any sort of compensation, after all you trust what the shop says. i have a honey gourmi had her for ages and she has never done anything, so does the breed matter on tempremant, would i be advised to get another honey guormi or just stick to the one honey.
