whart would be a good substitute for live rock? I am going to be upgrading my 55gallon to a 110, and will be using the 60lbs from that to get started.
My question is, since I already have some decent live rock goin with lots of critters, algae and other stuff going, what could I use to add with that to fill up the 110 and make more hidey places?

Just plain rock. Itstheantitang has rock from a lake in his tank, it looks nice.
You just have to be careful that its clean and won't change your water parameters.

The rock I have is granite chunks and boulders, and I have some limestone in there.
Tufa rock would look nice, as well as lava rock, and I heard lace rock is a good live rock substitute.
Make sure you soak your rock or pressure wash---NO soap, if the power washer had soap in it don't use it--- scrub the rock too

Its also a good idea to boil the rock if you have a big enough pot. This will help release anything that might leak into your tank. Just boil it for about 10min and let sit untouched for at least an hour. Even if its cool to the touch the inside will still be hot and it will heat you tank...

I ordered base rock from hirocks.com. Check them out. I cannot tell the difference between my base rock and my lr anymore. Be sure to rinse well if you do use it.
