Cheap Jebo Lighting...

I have a Jebo fixture I bought on eBay, from another seller. It's not as nice as the Satellite fixtures I've got, but well worth what I paid for it. The bulbs aren't the best - I'd factor in the cost of replacements if you want to keep corals.

You have to realize that the reason why Jebo lights are cheaper is because they use lower quality components and have lower manufacturing tolerances. As a result, they are hit-and-miss in terms of reliability.

Now I'm not going to use the blanket slur that they're "cheap Chinese crap" as others have in other forums, but put one next to a comparable Orbit or even an Aqualight and you'll see the differences in solders, fitment and materials. Put one of their T5 units next to a Teklight and you'll see even bigger differences. Their bulbs are also poor quality.

Now many people are satisfied with fixtures, but a disturbing number are also dissatisfied.

Also check whether the particular unit you want to get is UL listed or CSA approved (in Canada).

The maxims "caveat emptor" and "you get what you pay for" apply here (as with any purchase).
