Hi there.

I have an oscar that's about 3-4 inches long, and a pleco thats about 5-6 inches long (with another inch of tail, or so)

will they be ok together in the same tank? Of course I'll watch closely for the first few days... Also, whats the general rule with that? I have a pair of clown loaches that will probly be big enough to not get eaten by an oscar, but whats the rule of thumb with fish like oscars? how big should the non-aggresive fish be?

thanks!

The pleco will be fine with the oscar, I would say pretty much as long as the clown loach is too big to fit into the oscar's mouth you should be fine. You may want to make sure the oscar isn't too territorial. And the pleco is a very tough fish that can go with most fish, I kept a few with RBP's.
