Heyya folks. I was just curious if anyone has had any luck with Hagen's new hang on "reactor"? My echinodorus are starting to look a little spotty, so I thought perhaps one of these may help. Thanks for any comments.

not sure if the hagen and nutra fin set ups are the same but I like my nutra fin setup works slick:)
Where in mn are you?
And have you been to forest lake pets?I work there and we are the biggest and best in town.

I am happy with mine -- I'm way behind on my pruning now. How large is your tank? They claimed in my kit it is for volumes up to 20 gallons (although a friend of mine has one on his 45 with bottled gas and is getting good concentrations).

Nutrafin is part of Hagen, Hagen being the big "parent." I recently received one of their CO2 systems as a gift, its been running on my 20gallon bowfront for a few days now. Seems to be doing what it claims, but I'm not too impressed with the reactor. The reactor does not fully dissolve all of the CO2 into your tank, only a portion of it.

Other than the reactor, the Hagen system isn't too bad... much like a tweaked DIY system. If you aren't DIY inclined, have a small tank (under 20 gallons) and have some money to spend, then its a good buy. I personally would replace the passive reactor with an active one.

Thanks for the help. The tank actually is a 30, but I don't think that I'd need that much help, so I'll probably just stick with one. I haven't been to Forest Lake yet, though, it's the last of the great ones in MN that I haven't been too. I do my saltwater at Something Fishy and my fresh at TerreQuatics, but I've been meaning to get out there. I work at the Petco in Maple Grove, which isn't saying much, but we definantly have the best aquatic staff for Petco in Minnesota (again, not much).

just one thing about the hagen CO2...
if you look on the box, it says: made in italy.
however, the only three countries they give addresses for are USA, Canada and UK. lol. i just thought id mention that cos i found it funny!
As for how good it is, ive just set one up on my tank afew days ago, and its working like a dream. now to see if its any good when it comes to helping my plants...although im sure it will, as i have the uppermost faith in hagen - they certainly make the best filters in the world!
