chrismahanukawanzika present for me

id like to order today but i cannot decide, the ahs is a little more expensive and i dont know how much better the miro4 reflector is compared to the corallife.

There's a pretty big difference in looks between the two. The AHS model you're talking about is one of their finished wood enclosures that you will have to put together yourself, right?

The AHS reflectors are known to be very good so if you want to get as much light as possilbe into the tank they'd probably be a better choice. I like how the Coralife is simpler personally.

the ahs is a retrofit kit. it would go in my old perfecto that takes 5 mins to light up. i plan on building a wood enclosure eventually and stuffing another 2 CFs in there. but that wont be for a long long time.

If you definitely will build a canopy (like me) go with the AHS rig. You'll kick yourself up and down the road if you buy the Corallife (or any other self enclosed unit). They are very good units if you don't plan on pulling them apart. If you do pull them apart (like me), you will find the wiring somewhat of a hassle to "fix" in order for it to work in a custom canopy. My 2 cents.

You won't regret it. I have both. The Corallife is nice if you want something prebuilt. But the ahsupply is obviusly a way better light.
