Hey, I just bought some hornwart less than 2 weeks ago, and to my surprise it has nearly doubled in size in my new 60 gallon tank, with no supp. CO2.

Anybody have any suggestions on how to transplant, stuff that I couldn't find by simple research!?

Appreciated

transplant? You mean propagate? If so, just cut it into however many pieces you want and all the pieces grow faster than you need or want it to.

Man, I think my fish eat my hornwort faster than it grows. I had some bunches of anachris, hornwort and water sprite I put in my 72 gallon as floating plants - and the Anachris and Water Sprite have really flourished - but the Hornwort is the same size - maybe even less than when I bought it. And my SAEs are getting awfully big - it looks like they are going to town eating the Hornwort leaves

Alright, I meant propagate, sure.

Anyone have any estimates on the average growth of one of these things? This was crazy, like 8 inches in the first 2 weeks.

There are no meaningful averages-- but you must have plenty of dissolved minerals in your water. In my soft water hornwort disintegrates.

Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum) is a floating plant and it doesn't really have any particular "shape", just a bunch of branched strands. Very pretty though. Snip it anywhere you want, or just leave it alone. The growing tips are much prettier though, so if you trim to thin it out, leave the tips and get rid of the end sections.
