Looks like I need a lot of help with this calendar. Can people just tell me which pictures they prefer? I'm having trouble narrowing it down.

First one. Closer to the Rule of Thirds. I like the colors of the third image better, but the first one appeals visually.

I like the 3rd better too...

Doll...are you saying you prefer the third over the first?

So, one vote for #1 and one vote for #3? This is my last decision...what do others think?

I like #2 best, then #3.

For my taste (which might not say much) - in order: #2, #3, #1. I thought #1 had too much water in front and not enough sky on top.

All 3 are very 'useable' photos!

They all have different qualities, or moods with them.

Sorry, but I couldn't decide on a "best" one...

hmm... either the first or second one. probably the first.

I was gonna say #1 because I like the huts being in the background but I find the stuff under the water in the foreground too distracting.

#2 is decent but has less mood and the horizon is crooked (very fixable)

So, #3 is my pick. I would be tempted to punch up the saturation on the gold hues though to emphasize the sunset a little more.

I like the colour in the 2nd best, but all those clouds don't look so friendly. So I would have to go with the first one which seems more tropical and warm to me.

I'll say 3 then 2 then 1. The reason I made 1 last is because as Tomm says, the font of the water shows rocks and it seems a little distracting..... I like the dusky time of day it seems with the lighting (and clouds).

I like #2. Its lighter, brighter, and the clouds are beautiful.
1 and 3 are too dark and don't really showcase those neat little huts as much.

hahah, I thought you guys would help make this easier! The first and third were taken not too far apart, both are at the same place, watching the sunrise around 5:30 am. The second is a midday shot that I wish came out a little better.

Now I really don't know lol. Keep weighing in and I'll tally the votes. I should have made this a poll, I guess :o

My preference is the order they're in :

#1 - 1st
#2 - 2nd
#3 - 3rd

They're all beautiful... My favorite is number 1, then number 2, then number 3.

That was easy :)

Okay guys, it's time to print December's page! The count is in and #1 wins! =) The second was second, and the third third!

Thank you for all your help, I was at a loss:)

Even though my vote doesn't matter no more, :( I would have voted for #1 as well :)

Just for kicks and giggles, what program are you using to make your calendars? I have PrintMaster, by Broderbund. This is the first year I used it--last few years I just took the pictures in to Office Max and had them do it, but since the calendars are for my Grandmother's, I wanted to be able to use larger fonts for the numbers, and no place could do that for me. I've been really happy with this program--it's easy to use, and gave me good results, just wondering if there are better products out there. :)

1 is the best IMO.

It's nothing fancy. I was messing around with my new HP image software that came with my printer (I love the software) and there was a link to: http://h10066.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/acCategory?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&cat=46242

There's a few different types. This was a last minute "oh I could do that!" idea for a gift. I wish I could have had more control with formatting. And I would have liked if the calendar month was a two page split, with an entire 8.5X11" for the picture, and one below it for the month. Oh well. Either way, I just used up sooo much ink I'm sure!
