Anyone have this variety of Cichlid? I'm thinking of getting them. I have read all the info I can about them but that isn't real life. I need real world info. Any info on size, feeding, temperment, and so on would be helpful.
It would help if you could tell us what species of pike you are looking at.

I want as much info on as many species of Pike Cichlid as possible. If you happen to have any species of Pike Cichlid, please give me all the real world info you have.
Do you have any idea how many different species of pikes there are? Size is mostlik between 12 and 15 inches. Temperment varies from fish to fish. Some can be real nasty, others are tame. No personal experience with pike.

i just bought a pike from jeff rapps its not afraid of afracns triple its size it just stares them down even my midas back up but the pike wont

hey, i've got one unidentified adult pike (Crenicichla saxatalis? i think), around 10 young Crenicichla sp. "Pacaya" and around 10 sub-adult Crenicichla sp. "Belly Crawler". Feel free to email me with any specific questions.
I suggest you start out with a young fish, they are much easier to convert to eating pellets.

all the experience i have had with mine is that it ate 4 of my fish in 2 days. So now its back at the fish shop.

The first 3 are dwarf, Range from 3-5 inches. The last one is a big guy, max size is about 16 inches. As you can see they range from 3-24 inches.
The water conditions vary from 5.5-7.5. Neutral would be good and acidic would be better. But from my experiences, they’re not fussy.
They can eat they have a temper. Not as bad as people think though. I have my Xingu I, with a GT, JD, and Jag.
Check out the website that Zman sent. You’ll find some good information. Pike Cichlids are my favorite and the pictures don’t give them justice. Their color and behavior in person makes them a joy to keep.
