Hey all, Im looking to start up a smaller aquarium on a desk in my bedroom. I was looking for any stocking ideas(besides dwarf puffers). Any ideas are welcome! I am planning on making the tank pretty well planted, so any ideas there are also welcome.

At first I wanted to set up a tank just for a Redtail Shark but then I realized that a 10g is too small for it. I'm going to do a dwarf puffer tank on down the road so I m looking for any idea really, even if it's just one fish!

Thanks

How about a good sized school of endlers....nicely planted tank with dark substrate onyx sand, echo-complete or a mix of both if you're going to do live plants. If you buy a glass cover for the tank you could fit 2-12 inch striplights (they sell at petsmart for only 11$ each)...each with a 10watt screw in compact flourescent bulb in each, for 20watts of 6700K lighting.......should be more than enough for some nice plants....and dose with flourish EXCEL for carbon every day.

Your plants will be very happy...you could have a good sized school of these little endlers and maybe even add one larger fish for show...say a dwarf gourami or some other placid slow moving fish that wouldn't mind being in a 5 gallon tank with a group of endlers. The larger fish would also help in eating the vast quantity of fry those little endlers put out.

Oh...don't forget a nice little piece of malaysian driftwood for accent ! ;)

Just some thoughts and suggestions....I'm waiting for my bettas to be done with my 5 gallon so I can set up something like this myself ! :D
