what shrimp /crabs /crayfish can handle 1.004-1.008 s.g.?
with the dragon goby doing a lot of bottom cleanup i guess i dont really need one, but some times he ignores the bigger pieces.
[ the easy solution - no more bigger pieces. but what fun would that be?]

Ghost shrimp do fine in that range. Even higher is fine.

I've also had crawdads/crayfish survive in 1.014 for quite some time. they seemed to be ok, although they were never in there longer than 2 weeks.
but yeah, Ghost shrimp do great in brack.

wouldnt i have to have a sand bank / a bit of high ground for a fiddler? or am i thinking of something else?
when i was 12 i tried to get a dozen little crabs from the gulf in florida. pretty much boiled them in the trunk of the buick on the way home.
in an ideal set up, yes, a bank would be nice. you could just have a piece of driftwood coming out of the water's surface.

would the crayfish not attack the fish? i was thinking of getting some, but i just pictured it nipping my puffers while they rested on the bottom.
