Unfortunately this seems to be a problem with most angels. Was he eating at the LFS? If you're not sure, give them a call and ask (if this was a recent purchase), and find out what they were feeding.
You can try leaving sheets of nori in the tank in a clip for him to pick at all day long, and mysis might work as well - they seem to be tasty to most fish. Try adding a drop of garlic 'juice' to the food, that works with some picky eaters. If he absolutely refuses to eat, no matter what you try, as a last ditch resort you can try to encourage lots of algae growth in the tank (or on rocks in another tank; move them into the display when they're covered in algae on a rotating basis).

I would try the garlic. It really does help the finicky eaters.
Buy a fresh clove peel and cut, and then squeeze the juice into the food. Finger nails work great for this. I used frozen food for the garlic. I notice that my coral beauties don’t like brine. They will leave it for the cleaners.

i had the same problem with my flame angel, but after a few days he started to eat the frozen herbivore mix i fed my other fish. But unfortunately, he wasnt too bright, a week later he got stuck on one of my powerheads overnight and when i found him in the morning, he had croaked....RIP
