I just found it it seems like it might be completely done with, but is there anything I can do for him? Havn't tested the water in 2 weeks but everything is within spec but I don't know about calcium. Salinity 1.023-1.024. I do water changes every month. Anything I can do? Is he better off in my refugium then the main tank?

If it's a linckia or fromia, it's probably a goner. They ship poorly and most die in the shop or soon after they arrive in hobbyists' tanks.

it would help to know wut kind it is but generally they starve to death without special care except for several stars. and how old is your system?

It can often take marine inverts months to die from various shocks they receive in shipping or acclimation.
Anyway, what are the symptoms? Are parts melting?

My system is about 2 years old, 25-30lbs live rock a penguin 330 and a 170 powerhead with sump/refugium, the clown red-lipped blenny and yellow tang are all good. I do have a few snails and a few hermits. The star is not moving much at all, it does actually look like it wasting away. It looks like it kind of has dents in its legs. It seemed like it was doing great a couple days ago. What should I have fed it? Could lack of calcium be a problem?

You could try setting a piece of shrimp or other food under it, i have heard of that. Dont know if it will help yours out tho.
