I have two Amano shrimps and two Otos mysteriouly died one after the other! Don't know if it was done by the shrimps. My cories are doing well though as well as my tetras.
By the way, are Amano shrimp different from Ghost shrimp? Amano being bigger and have dark spots on their bodies, right? Please educate me...I'm a noob.
I have lots of ghost shrimp in my 55 gal. They are NOT aggressive to ANY of my fish. They love to eat peas, and their bellies turn the color of their food. My crayfish likes to eat the ghost shrimp and as a result the ghost shrimp are now living on top of the plants and castle. Smart little guys they are. I agree w/ hurricanejedi about some people being misled. Especially b/c some are talking about the claws their ghost shrimp have. I havent noticed any claws of any size on mine.
I've heard about the occassional ghost shrimp being aggressive to smaller fish. I've never experienced it myself although I have saw them take out pond snails.
