Someone please out with this question: can clown loach and pleco stay peacefully with each other. I read from somewhere says pleco and clown loach should be kept apart; otherwise tragedy will happen. Is this true?

hmmm not true i have 3 plecos and 7 clown loaches together....the plecos are 12,10,8 inches and loaches are 5 inches to 2 inches

if the pleco wanted to he could swallow that clown loach whole but pleacos are genrally peaceful.....although i have had one pleco that liked eating everything

I agree! I have all types of plecs with clowns with absolutely no problems. Some of the more territorial plecos may give the clowns a spiny fin to get them out of their territory or chase them a short ways but no damage, so go for it if you have a large enough tank! Best of luck!

Just remember that clown loaches should be kept in groups of at least 3 and that some types of plecos are territoral to their own species.

i have a sailfin pleco living with 2 clown loaches in my community tank with no problems. in fact, i appear to have an extremely friendly pleco...he feeds with all my cories and clown loaches, and lets the pick all the food off him that lands on him. its a funny sight watching him 'hang out' with them, as he is such a giant....but a gentle giant. i have heard rumours thou of clown loaches being rather tempermental sometimes...but i have never experianced this, and it appears no one else here has either.
