you should be fine with any of the Tetras with the other fish listed. bleeding hearts are mellow just like most Tetras. Personally, I like the more colorful Tetras like Glowlite, Pristellas(x-ray Tetras) & Lemons

sounds like you're fine. how many of the bleeding hearts did you plan on buying?

i know they can nip at each other if you have too few.

I had three to start with, I now have seven. They nipped at my dwarf gouramis a little at first but they are fine now.

I like them because they get fairly large.

in my personal experience 3 is too little. the lfs will say 3 but with tetras ive found you need at least 6 for them to be a school.

Yeah I have to agree even though sometimes even 6 is not enough the bigger the school the more likely they will school.

I have 4 bleeding heart tetras and 1 Buenas Aires tetra. most of the time, they just swim around. But when they are scared, all five of them school together.
