I've always hated my 55g reef. Not because of the inhabitants - they are awesome - but just the footprint of the tank makes it hard to create something with depth. I picked up a good deal on a 75g reef ready tank and stand on Saturday morning along with a 20g sump.
It took longer than expected to get things together but finally it is up and running. There was only one real hassle I had to deal with and that was the heater on the 55g decided to quit. This happened to be on sometime on Saturday night and the planned fish move was Sunday morning. So things became a bit urgent when I noticed the water was at 68 degrees.
So far everything looks good. The corals and fish have perked up and are appreciating the new space. But there's still some things to be done. I need a more powerful skimmer, more lighting and more live rock.
Hopefully I will be creative enough to make all this worthwhile.
