I just accidently broke a thermometer in my tank with seahorses. The red alcohol didn't leak out, but the small black pellets did. they were all in the DSb. My husband and I got out as many as possible, but I am worried that we missed some. Do you think that they would hurt anything. I read on a different thread that they were made of iron. What would that do in a saltwater tank. Thanks :help:

Iron itself will not be a problem, in that rust isn't very soluble and iron oxides aren't very toxic. There may be other metals in the pellets that may be more problematic, though. If it were my tank, I would weigh the hazards of the metals against the stress of tearing the tank apart, and I would leave things be. Once they start to rust, they may be easier to see and remove.
