OK this is neither fish related, or fresh water ....

I am looking for an online source for cheap freshwater snails, like ramshorn (the yucky infestatious ones). Our tortoise requires them in his diet, so I am hoping to find something that will reproduce a lot. ALso I can feed my loaches/betta with them too...THERE IS THE FISH PART!

I know petco gives these away. But on those lazy days, it would be nice to know of other resources.

All I am finding are the fancy snails, like mystery, apple etc.

thanks!

Hmm. Try buying a few plants from a couple different places and putting them in your fish tank. No need to worry about taking care of the plants really. But it seems that often nusiance snails are delivered to a tank by eggs being on aquarium plants. That way you could infest one of your tanks with snails and collect them to feed the tortoise. As well as be an ever-present food source for the fish in the aquarium with them.
