My pressurized system is on order, meanwhile I am starting the DIY today. I wanted to find out what you guys think would be the most efficent way to diffuse CO2 in my 75G:

1. I have a bubble wand burried at the bottom of the tank under a 2" layer of eco-complete which is covered by a layer of gravel. I could connect the CO2 line to the bubble wand

2. Stick the CO2 line in the intake of my aquaclear (there is no surface agitation problem as the water is topped off)

Let me know which one would be the most efficent way.

Thanks

IMO none of the above.

Do some reading, Google, search archives etc. The two most efficient methods are 1. a CO2 Reactor of which there are many shapes, sizes and variations or 2. a Quality Diffuser (micro bubble generator) the mist then blown around the tank.

I use micro bubble mist, works great, low profile, and cheap.

You will also need to turn your bubble wand off in order not to gassoff your CO2.

I built a simple reactor out of an old gravel vac, some bio balls and a small pump. there's a lot of designs for that in here and in cyber space.

A DIY reactor will work, or you can get a made one at aquabotanic.com (vortex reactor). That will work well with DIY and pressurized when you get it.

But if don't do any of those things, from your options the best one is running it through the intake. DIY for a 60+ gallon is hard, run several bottles of DIY.

Thanks, I will be receiving a ceramic diffuser with my pressurized system. Right now I am diong the DIY, temporarily, and am running 3 bottles. I will stick CO2 line in the intake for now. Thank you all.
