I like my moonlights. I got a moonlight strip from aquatraders.com...I like it, cheap and looks good. Nothing like watching the shimmering water, and bubbles float around in a blueish type light.
Having alot of electronics experience I built my own. I also got a timer that has a daylight and nightlight feature so it automaticaly turns them on. Not having to always turn things on/off is a great thing. The LED's were $1 a piece and I used an extra power supply I had (surplus cable modem supplies - have a whole box of em). I have 4 mounted on my tank so far but I have a total of 10 leds I ordered. The only problem I had with diy moonlighting is that there were no specs on the led's I bought and they have a very tight pattern, like 15 degrees. I would have rather had I wide angle like 45 degrees. So they are more like moon 'spotlights' in my tank. They are also probably a little too bright as some fish still shy away from the light. But it does make the tank pretty cool lookin.
