I just baught a cichlid from my LFS...The owner doesn't know what fish it is so i asked some of my friends and some said jack dempsey and others said Texas.....Can someone tell me ways to find out what fish this is?? the colors on it are dark green and black

It's a Jack Dempsey; JD's have green and black accents to them.
Texas Cichlids are mostly silver and black. Texas cichlids do not have green in their coloration.
