anyone ever order fish online and have em live shipped? i really would like to try it because the selection of african cichlids around here is about the same old stuff and would like to try it. if anyone has any advice on good sites lemme know.

Most of the sites out there are good, but make shure you get some kind of warente. Like a 30day warente that the fish will arive alive and be alive for that time peroid.

I have gotten some of my africans from online straight from a breader. I try to stay closer to the wild ancester for best quality. I have had two deaths from shipping out of 30 total ordered fish. They were irronically the smallest ones out of the bunch. I do not recomend buying any smaller than an inch if you do this because they do not travel well. I like to stick more towards the larger ones over 1 1/2" if buying unsexed juvies. Try aquabid.com. A lot of these fish are very nice quality at a decent price. I also do not recoment buying if accual father is not posted, expecially when farther from wild ancesters. If your lucy, you will find one near you. They are hard to find because nearly all do it in there own home.

I've ordered fish online twice. From http://www.rehobothaquatics.com/index2.html.
Just make sure who you're ordering from is reputable and guarantees live arrival or 100% money back. A 30day guarantee would be cool but unrealistic because there are too many variables that the shipper cannot control for that could kill the fish

liveaquaria.com has a nice selection and a 14 day guaruntee, very nice.
I inquired about buying different sexes and they said to me if i buy enough im bound to get a female in there...
Not great for setting up a mbuna tank. otherise looks good. pricey thou.

I've bought from several places:

www.liveaquaria.com I've placed about 5-6 orders. Extremely healthy fish. Excellent Shipping. Only 1 DOA - cherry fire shrimp, and one "damaged" guppy that recovered just fine. They credited me for the shrimp (hey, they were 8 bucks each!). Unless it's rainbowfish, I look here first and will buy from them.

www.**************** Three orders, good fish, good shipping. Will order from again if LiveAquaria doesn't have what I want.

www.AquaBid.com I've bought from there several times, but what you get and how you get it depends on who you buy from. I buy all my rainbowfish from the same guy. Won't buy from anyone else unless he doesn't have what I'm looking for and that's rare.

How about http://www.somethingsphishy.com/ they have alot of cool plecos anyone ever buy from them?
No, but I sent them an inquiry in regards to L095, which I really wanted, and they never bothered to respond.

Ergo, I'll not do business with them.

well thank u guys very much for all the quick responses i will deffinately look into these sites once i get my 55 gallon set up for my mbuna community. right now my mbuna's are all in a 26 gallon long but they are all juvies so i'm cool.

Wow I never knew I liked Pleco's until I saw the ones they list there. I like the L075 Para Pleco and L168 Butterfly Pleco. I wonder if the list size is the size they sell them at or their max size?
