I bought this "Ghetto heater" to tide me over till next payday for my new tank (I bought the tank 3 weeks ago, cycled it and bought the rest of the stuff this weekend). I did everything I should have, put the heater in for 15 minutes to let it adjust. Then I plugged it in and let the pilot light go on, the next thing I know I look over and the pilot light isn't on anymore. Then I put my finger on the temp adjuster and the light comes on. But no matter how much higher I turn it on the light doesn't stay on. I would like this **** thing to be ready for tomorrow can anyone help me?

Open trash...insert heater. All I can say is that cheap heaters fail a lot. It's well worth the extra 10-20 bucks for a good heater. Odds are, one day it'll either fry your fish or fill with water...

1 of my old (i dont have any more) heaters used to work but the light on it was blone up or gone any way it didnt work but the actual heater did i say get a thermometer if u dont have 1 and see what the temp is to see if it working or not, or touch it and feel if its warm or cold think about it ;)

The light comes on but if I move it just a little bit (move the actual heater) it turns off.

I'm just using this piece of junk as a temp. I'm going to buy a 60 dollar top o' the line next payday. This is just so I can with-do till then.
