i have only seen them at Wal- Mart. i think they r made by terta but i'm not sure. there are lights w/ suction cups on them and u put them in ur tank. does anyone else use these? i bought some i have one blue lite and 2 green. they r the coolest thing. i put the green ones on the bubbles and the blue ones on a cave i have. i will get pics soon. its says they r safe for fish but i am not sure if they really are? thnx

as much as they are not to my taste, the lights are perfectly safe for use with fish...and im sure look very impressive when used in caves and as such. you can always trust tetra is my motto....they are certainly a leading company here in england, not sure about where you lot are. but did you know that tetra made the first fish flake? 50 years ago...

The one I have is the Miracle Beam LED lights. They aren't very bright, and you can only really see them with the lights off. They don't put out any heat (or very very little). My only problem was keeping the algae off of them and remembering to turn them on and off.

I can see how the LED units are safe, but I wonder about the laser unit.

if its intended for aquarium use, and is on sale in respectable retailers, then it should have followed certain safety protocals and would hav had to be checked and tested, so i wouldnt worry -they'll be perfectly safe. id imagine they work very low heat like fluoresent lighting.

The laser modules have warnings on them saying not to shine the laser in your eye.

 how safe can they be

I have 5 of the L.E.D. lights on the bottom, front of the tank. They are not as bright as I expected. I used to have them on top - under the center glass brace. They 'worked' better there. I had them aimed at the driftwood and a rock, and it looked ok..

Take 'em or leave 'em? I'd leave 'em.... No real benefit, but rather a toy light..
