What are your water parameters? Fungus is usually an indication that the water quality isn't very good.

Your best course of action is to stop with the medication and start doing water changes. Daily and in large quantities of 50%.

Post your parameters -- ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, pH -- and let's see what we're working with.

I don't know how many dollars you have in your 20g, but I can tell you for a fact that that tank is too small for them. Been there. Now they are in a 65g.

Those medicines are not fixing your problem because they are not very strong at all. They both use very diluted forms of botanical oils. They may help slight fin tears or rot, but they will not fix your problem.

What size tank you do have? And what do you mean some have already died from "unexpection"?

If you are having troubles, this is what I suggest:

Keep your water clean. Clean water = happy fish. Nitrates should stay under 20ppm while you are trying to fix your problem.

Get a stronger medicine, a real medicine. Go to the fish store and see what they've got that is for Fungus. Aquarisol or Malachite green, Fungus cure, Binox, FungusCure may work. Salt is an option as well.

EDIT: I see Roan posted as I was. But I was editing to include this for you to narrow it down:

salt?I have salt.I asked about it down the freshwater med board about some things of what it does for recovery;Nobody cared to answer...=\...so yea, salt is a option?i have a 20gal 2 silver dollars remaining,5 blood parrots and one baby koi(im planning to take him to the bigger tank)...Yea,4 tablespoons.

Jungle Labs Dip test...total hardness is"Very Hard 300"Is that okay?Im still not sure. It's the middle one that is most

Hrm, your tank is *really* overstocked and that is part of your problem. Even with the two remaining silver dollars in that little tank, with those blood parrots and koi, those fish are going to be stressed all to wack and back.

You have no hiding spots at all and no substrate. Dollars are very timid fish and *need* dim light and large places to hide or they will dash into the sides of the tank. Lots of fake plants work for them to hide behind.

Their tails and fins also looked like something has been chewing on them.

We really need to know what your water parameters are. Ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and pH.

Please buy a test tube kit. The strips aren't very accurate at all.

Salt is not an option...Stop screwing around an treat the fish. Do a massive water change and start a round of treatment with Maracyn 2... Should clear it up...If not you need to use stronger meds.

Salt works on parasites but not fungus.

If you have been slack on water changes up until now start doing small water changes every hour (10-20%) until about half the water has been changed out. Then daily water changes of 50%. If you can get some true fungus meds then great, just follow the directions as per water changes at that point.

But those fish all get way too big for a 20 gallon tank. The parrots alone will probably need at least a 55 gallon tank.

Dim the lights a bit as you have no live plants to worry about. Stress weakens the immune system and therefore doesn't help as the fish try to fight off whatever illness and fungus is attacking them.

Well if it is a Saprolegnia fungi, which is most likely the case, it seems malachite green or methylene blue is the good option. Both of which are good for most fungi.

I know those are for koi, but you know...

As for the salt thing, sorry, I wasn't thinking. I half had in mind columnaris, which is a bacteria, and doesn't care for salt as much....but it won't help with what this is.

However, that tank is so seriously overstocked. Water quality is an issue - and fungi are usually exacerbated by stressors....like water quality.

About the water,

Well,i did a mighty 75% water change to the 20 gallon tank a week ago, cleaned off the tank with a green hard sponge and refill the tank with one gal, scooped one gal of water, poured it out.I did this process about 4 times to get the water really clean...then,i added the gallons, added the conditioners, and cleaned the 2 whisper filter bag a bit filled with poop i had set up on the filter water flow, and one more with carbon filled but not too much. And the placed them back onto the water flow ontop.

As for Roan

:thm: I have a bridge in the middle.Didnt care to shoot it up here =P.As for the silver dollars, mine seem a bit enthusiastic and not too afraid for some reason. They love to swim up to me and beg for food.I had one shy blood parrot and he DID hide to the back of the bridge, but now,he's just swimming it up to me begging for food.So yeah,im not having problems with the fish bumping or anything..they are just happy im near them, but the overstocking,eh,i guess i'll agree with you on that.....

As for Queen Pixie ;)

:idea2: Yeah,i did do a massive water change.And Maracyn 2,huh?I see.Thanks.

As for leopardness

Thanks for the links and all that.

As for myself,i forgot to edit and say i only had 2 left not "now 6"-.-
