I think my freshly molted skunk shrimp has eggs! (dark things in its abdomen.) It probably "got it on" at the fish store see that I only have one. I heard that theres no chance in hell that any will survive but the only thing in there is a damsel. I find it hard to belive that shes going to eat every single one of them.

What could I do-other then setting up a separate tank-to help them survive?

Unless you're set up for long-term rearing (probably about 10 weeks) of planktonic larvae, there's basically nothing you can do. If you look at the breeder's registry or other sites, the success rate for cleaner shrimp larvae is close to nil. Even peppermint shrimp, which settle sooner, require a separate tank and a constant supply of brine shrimp nauplii.

Think of it as a nice planktonic snack for the tank :D

They will get sucked into the filter, and your shrimp will eat them too... I don't think I've ever read of anyone rasing more than one (out of 10000 or whatever... and that was after a dozen or so tries)

well now the dots are gone and gestation is defintly more then 2 days and i can't see anything in the water so I don't know what happen :( do they store a lunch in there? :joke:
