Hey guys, I got like ten metal halide bulbs for free from a job my dad was doing and I'm not sure exactly what to do with them. I've got a few different types of bulbs, for different media. Are there any hoods or fixtures you would suggest that could include fluorescents along with the halides?

Do you know the specs on the bulbs, like manufacturer, color temperature and wattage? Most commercial halide lamps have the wrong spectrum for a reef tank.
There are combo hoods out there, but they are quite expensive. Have a look at what is offered by places like Marine and Reef and Premium Aquatics. You might be able to DIY something if you can find a deal on a good halide ballast and reflector.

Yeah, I'll check out the specs. I might not even use them, but if I do I want to use the fluros too. Thanks.
