im getting the 2 ft tank for my cod tommrow and i was wonder if i could syphon the water out of my 12 ft to fill the tank up or should i fill the tank up with normal tap water and wait a week im leaning towards the syphoning part of thing but i thourght i should and a second point of view thgink about it
 
I would go along with using the water fron the 12 ft tank if it has already gone threw the maturation process. that water would be more preferable. be sure to do a water paremeter check b 4 adding any fish!
 
the water's not really important from a cycling point of view. you'd be better using some gravel from your established tank - better still some filter media.
by the way, don't sleeping cod get pretty big?
 
a bit late now

i got my tank a few days ago and i used the weater from the 12ft and the cod get up to about 50 cm long but by then i will pu him in with my oscarsa or take him down to the show as a display
