so i guess this si working, i know that your PH will lower then you add CO2. BUT

When started just over a week ago, i had a PH of 8.4 and this is a freahwater NON african tank. SO, the high PH is a little conserning. Now that i have started to put in CO2, my PH is at 7.2. This seems like a LARGE jump. So what does this say about my CO2 levels, and about how much i am putting in. BTW i dont have a KH or GH kit.

It doesn't say anything about your CO2 levels.

You need a KH kit if you're doing CO2.

There's not a whole lot we can tell you without all three sides of the triangle.

Ditto.

8.4 to 7.2 should be a concern, but nothing to go crazy over yet. Are the fish o.k.? If so, you're o.k. (provided you have enough KH to prevent a crash). No fish yet? Then no worries :)
