Tetra Test? Yay or Nay?

I have a tetra test kit but I dont have the cards, so I have been using test strips which I know are crap really. So my question to you is....Is tetra test an okay test kit or should I use something different? I would like to buy at my LFS, I really dont want to have to order some hugely expensive super kit lol. Any suggestions?
 
The general concensus around here and the one I use personally is the AP Master Freshwater Kit. Accurate, reliable and very simple to use. You can usually pick one up for around $15.00 USD.
 
with the AP kit, if you loose something, you can just email them, and they'll send you replacements. I dont' know if tetra does the same, but I had midplaced a few of my cards, so they sent me all new ones.
 
My first etst kit a a Tetra Laborett. When one of the reagents was gone, I had to get replacements. I started buying HAGEN/Nutrafin individual tests.

Just for investigation porpuoses, I did simultameous test with both brands and both gave me prettyy much the same results, which I consider proves both are fine. :read:
 
One thing I like about the AP kits is that you can buy packages of extra test tubes. I test all my tanks at least once weekly and it's faster to test them all, then wash the tubes.

Thanks for sending me towards AP test kit. I called around and nobody has Tetra test anymore anyway. But here is the prices for AP kit in my area

But lucky me...my petsmart will honor online pricing and their online price is only 13.49...so guess where I am going tonite lol.
 
I got the PA master freshwater kit for abotu 25 bucks here:(

the only problem I had with it was either I was doing something wrong (which was hard to believe) or I got a bad batch of nitrate test bottles. I went and got the tetra test nitrate kit and it worked fine.

I'd say both are good, although the tetratest one was a little bit more complicated than the AP (although I couldn't get the AP to work, so my opinon may not be worth much! :duh: )

and it seems that this AP Master Freshwater Test kit lacks Nitrate (NO3). Do you mean one buys some seperate AP test kit for NO3 or is there some trick or addon to the Master Test Kit that one needs to test for NO3?
