Something that I have been wondering...

What is the difference between Full Spectrum & Daylight fluorescents???

I have 10K Daylight CF's on my 55 and was wondering if that would be better than the 6700 Full Spectrum for growing plants.

Please help clear the confusion! :help:

Thanks,

6700K is better for plants

full spectrum doesn't mean that much

10000K is better looking to the human eye but the plants can't use it as efficiently + algae can use it

what about a mixture of 2 x 6700K + 2 x 10000K

I have separate power switches for each bank in my 4 x 55 W light.

In the trade currently, full spectrum usually indicates a triphosphor tube, daylight may well not be, so may have significant gaps in specrtal curve.

OK & Thanks!

That's what I was mainly wondering!

anyone know a good place to get 2 55W 6700K straight Pin CF bulbs???

i'm using two T12 full spectrum bulbs on my 20g and my plants are all doing great
