I have an 2 gallon Eclipse Explorer that houses one betta. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that the front of the tank has three cracks in it, each a couple or a few inches long. I'm guessing my kids were swinging something around and it hit the tank--but of course NO ONE knows anything about it. :D

I put some scotch tape over the cracks while I decide what to do. So far, there have been no leaks. This tank is in the kids' room (they're 6 and 3), and they won't care about the appearance, so rather than buy a new tank I'd like to make a sturdy repair. Can anyone suggest the least ugly way of making sure the cracks don't get bigger?

I'm thinking I could just cover them with a line of silicone. While applying it, I could protect the surrounding area with tape to be removed when the silicone dries.
