I tried Zave's new protine powder CO2 idea. It was working too well the first too days, I had way too much CO2, so I removed the ladder and tubing from the tank before I turned the lights off so I couldn't be pumping even more in. I woke up to a loud gurgling sound just now. I was able to figure out it was the Co2 as i lay there. It kepted gurging every so often. I realised that it wasn't gurgling when I went to sleep, and thought that maybe the tube had fallen back into the water and was right on the surface.

I went over to the tank and turned the nearest light on. To my horror, the Co2 system that was working so well, was now working TOO well. I had a chocolate flavored concoction bubbling out of the tube! The reciepe worked itself up the tubing, and was dripping out of the tube, which was why it was gurgling. It was enough to cloud my water.

The tank isn't pretty, but the fish are fine. They aren't on the surface gasing for air, everyone is moving normally. I just increased surface agitation and now I'm going back to sleep. Maybe I added a little too much water, but just food for thought when trying new reciepes. Zane, it worked great for the first few days. I think I'm going to leave the protine powder out next time, until further testing reveases the perfect formula.

I checked out my tank again, my angelfish wasn't looking too hot,he was near the bottom and gasping a little. I changed about 50% of the water with a higher PH tap water, and I just hooked up a bubbler. It is still cloudy, but the angelfish is free swimming now, so I suppose he is happier.

water change

i found when my water is cloudy or milky that there is this miricle little cure that to pour into the tank and it solidifies the milkiness and the filter will remove it. you can get it at your local per shop i have no idea what its called.

Keep up the water changes, another 50% tonight and 1 more time tommorow. It may seem like over kill, but you want to get all of that protien shake recipe? out of your water.
