I bought 4 male Tequila sunrise guppies, who share a 10 gallon with 2 LF danios and 2 female bettas who are currently in net breeders, waiting to be sold. Just recently i noticed one of them REALLY likes to swim and twitch up near where my AC spills back into the tank. Then it lays on the gravel, and when I come near it swims around normally. Just now, this second, he's pedalling very close to the surface, rarely braking this position to swim a little deeper. The other 3 males harrass him, but now harrass a second guppy who is swimming normal.

Is the one guppy sick/dying? And why do they harras the crap out of eachother? I'm getting 8 females saturday, and HOPING to get rid of my bettas ( anybody in the Vancouver/Portland area want some nice healthy females? My male isn't wanted either! ).
Thanks a ton. x.x I've been having a little difficulty keeping the one from either laying down or near the surface. They eat normal, as well, and I water change every week, syphon the gravel, keep the PH nuetral, feed them twice a day, etc. The other fish are perfectly fine.

I don't think that he is sick,I think that is the less dominant of the three. They are actually doing what is natural to them.I have a tank full of males that practice this all the time.To be honest with you what they really want is a female. Also keep in mine that guppies are very overbreed and interbreed.Sometimes this shows up as and physical deformity or a unusual behavior .Hope this makes sense and you are going to need another tank.Guppies make more guppies and those guppies make even more guppies. You get the picture? Good luck with them
