Well,
I’m pretty much at a loss at this point. Here are the chemical stats:

Amonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 10
PH: 7

Water Changes: Weekly, 30-50%
Tank is established, about 2 years running now. Equipment is in the signature below.

So I have a Rummy nose Tetra with fungus. He’s got a puffy white spot on his left side next to his dorsal fin (sorry, no digital camera right now), and he’s had it for a couple of months now. I have tried the following medications:

Pimafix w/Melafix
Fungus Clear
Marcyn
Maroxy

None of these have worked, and one thing I have not tried is giving the fish an individual bath. I guess I’m writing to find out what has worked for others and for advice for giving a fish a fungus bath should that be the best next step. Any help would be more than appreciated.

Kid of tough to help since there are so many possible problems.
could be a bacterial infection(gram + or gram -) could also be some sort of parasite..not sure but

have you seen this site?

it may have a treatment that might work..

good luck

I would get a 10-15 Gal Hospital tank and treat the one fish in a stress free enviroment, I keep my hospital tank simple with a little gravel and a filter w/o carbon.

I had a large fish with patches of body fungus when i recieved it.

After about 1 month of pimafix/melafix, salt, increased temp and aeration as well as triweekly water changes it went away.
Also, the fish went from unhealthy to healthy, i think its own immune system had a lot to do with the healing as well.

Good lukc getting rid of it!

Hey folks,
thanks for the advice--very helpful. I think I may try the hospital tank thing. It's probably time anyway. Again, much appreciated!
