Got a 29g from a friend. I'm working on ID-ing them.

http://wagnertechservice.com/personal/newguys/newguys.htm

I've numbered the groups for reference and will update this main post as IDs are confirmed:

Group # - Qty # - Sci Name - Common Name(s) - Credit

Group 1 - Qty 1 - Megalomphodus megalopterus - Black Phantom Tetra - carpguy
Group 2 - Qty 1 - Epalzeorhynchus frenatus - Red-finned Shark, Rainbow Shark, Ruby Shark - jodimartin2003
Group 3 - Qty 1 - Gyrinocheilos aymonieri - Gold Chinese Algae Eater - dangerdoll, carpguy
Group 4 - Qty 2 - Barbus conchonius - Rosy Barb - mooman
Group 5 - Qty 2 - Pareutropius buffei - Striped African Glass Catfish - Dangerdoll, mooman, fiske
Group 6 - Qty 1 - - Hides under shell, couldn't photo...more later

After identifying, I will be considering whether any of them can be tranfered to my main 55g (currently stocked with 9 Boesemani Rainbowfish).

I'm not positive about the rest, but number 2 is a Rainbow Shark. They can be aggressive, especially to other similar fish, such as the albino you have. I got rid of mine for constantly harassing my flying fox. They are beautiful fish though.

He's definitely shown aggression. I saw him chasing a few of the others (especially Group 3...don't know if that's an albino or not). Group 5 has some nipped fins, but I don't know for sure who is the culprit yet.

He really is beautiful. Anyone have opinions about compatibility with Boesemani? They are my pride and joy, so their safety and comfort is first priority. Leaning towards leaving him out of the 55g.

I've updated the main post with this ID...thanks jodimartin!! :)

#4 is a rosey barb I believe, and #5 is an iridescent shark (they get something like four feet long.
Yeah, 4 definitely looks like a rosey barb. There's no black spot just before the tail fin though. Do ALL rosey barbs have that black spot?

I have to disagree with 5 being an iridescent shark though. They have a definite black stripe and I can't find any pics of iridescents with a stripe.

Group 1 is a Serpae Tetra.... not very good shape but it looks pretty much like it...
Group 2 are rainbow sharks and can be aggressive with any fish that are similar in shape to them The grow more aggressive as they age and should be provided a cave area for them to call as their own.
Group 3 looks more like a Chinese Algae Eater than a Siamese.... may have problems with the shark(s).
Group 4 looks like a Rosy Barb. No way is it a gourami.
Group 5 looks like a Glass Cat but I'm not 100% on that....

I agree with TD Wag, those are definitely not Irridescents....

I think 1 and 4 are Tetras. 1 is definitely not a barb and 4 is definitely not a gourami. 4 could be a barb but the fins seem wrong to me. 5 is not an SAE.

1 looks to me like a Black Phantom Tetra

2 is definitely a Rainbow Shark.

3 looks to be a CAE, gold morph.

I think that #1 may be a female flame tetra, definitely not a serpae, could be a female black phantom. I agree with Dangerdoll for the rest. Although #5 does not look like the usual glass catfish, it probably would be sold as a glass cat of some sort. Maybe do a search for "striped glass catfish."

1 - Definitely a tetra. Seems like it has more color then a Black Phantom and maybe less then a Serpae. Continue debating.

2 - Definitely Rainbow Shark

3 - Probably Gold Chinese Algae Eater

4 - NOT GOURAMI :) ...Probably Rosy Barb (Carbguy, why Tetra?)

5 - Personally leaning toward SAE (carpguy, why not?) The stripe continues to end of tail fin, leading me to believe SAE as opposed to CAE (whose stripe ends before tail fin).
