African Clawed Frog Question

I had 2 resonably sized african clawed frogs about 4" each in a 10g aquarium but the other day I upgraded them to a 40g tank (nothing else in there just them). Now if I set up a land area would they make use of it ?. I know they are 100% aquatic normally but at any point do they come onto land even for just a few minutes, or have i answered my own question by saying there 100% aquatic ?.

Also whats a good tank mate for ACF's, none of my LFS sell cool stuff like newts so it'd probably have to be an aquatic creature of some kind but I dont want my ACF's to think the new tank mate is an easy meal.
 
well i had an ACF once but it never really came out of the water at all, but one of my ADF's hid behind my filter and came out of the water for a couple of minutes i have no clue why but i don't think you should put a land area in there would just be a waste of money in my opinion unless you did buy newts. but the ACF might eat anything small enough to fit into its mouth so i discourage gettin small fish as tank buddies, peacable medium sized fish would do i would say.
 
No, they will not come out of the water. If they do, they will die. Just like a fish.

ACFs are best kept as species-only. It will indeed eat anything that can fit into it's mouth - and will try to eat anything that doesn't. They also will not hesitate to attack fish much larger than themselves.
