Hey everyone,

One of my Silver Dollars has what looks like some black or dark green stuff on the back edge of his tail fin. I'm not sure if this is a type of algae or fungus or not. None of my other fish exhibit it and it doesn't seem to be spreading or affecting him. He still eats fine and acts normally.

I tried Melafix but it didn't do anything. It looks like it has fromed in a spot where he was nipped at by another fish (on the portion of the fin that got nipped off). I suspect this stuff has prevented the fin from growing back completely.

Any suggestions on what this may be or a way to get rid of it? I don't have a medication tank so any type fo med would have to be "safe" to the other unaffected fish.

I have a 33 gallon with an AQ 300 and AQ 200. I do water changes twice a week and water quality is good. There are a total of 4 Silver Dollars, 1 Gourami, an algae eater and some neons.

Thanks for your help!
