hi,

i currently have the bottom of my hood painted white. was thinking of added aluminium foil to make it shiny... i would like to ask which would be work best? white or shiny reflectors?

thanks!

My opinion is shiny is best. Some company sells stuff that would work better than tin-foil. It will go on smoother with less wrinking so you will have better reflection. I don't know their website now, but if you want to go that route I'll try and find the site.

I bought some plastic wrap stuff for presents at a craft store for $2. It's not affected by water and is mirror finish.

I'd stick with the white paint. White paint is a excellent reflector.

If you really want 'shiny', you might want to check out mylar film.

My guess is white would produce a "softer" reflection. Wish I could do an experiment with 'shiny' and 'white' to see what the effect would be. No time -- not retired yet.. LOL :)

hmm... since it wouldn't be a marked improvement if i went from white paint to shiny reflectors... as both are pretty good, i guess i'll just be lazy and stick with what i've got.. (and save some money in the process!:)
