Anyone know for sure what the species name for rummy nosed tetras are. I remember when I first started to keep fish they were bleheri, then I saw rhodostomus being used quite a bit. Recently I saw Jack Wattley refering to them as bleheri. Any ideas? Thanks.

There are three lookalike Rummynose Tetra species. Randy Carey www.characin.com used to have an article explaining the difference... he wrote about them in Aquarium Fish or TFH a couple of years back. He had a lot of trouble with petsforum his server last year and the html link to his article is still dead...

Do you know his site? A lot of it is gone, but his journal entries are well worth reading through.

Do this: run a www.google.com search " Randy+Carey Rummy-Nose Tetras " (cut n paste it). You'll pull up the article.

HTH!
